The Institute of Production Engineering and Machine Tools (IFW) welcomes applications for the following position available from now on: Student Assistant on the subject of "Intelligent systems for improving manufacturing quality in the medical technology (23 hours per month)
The position is limited to 3 months for project-related reasons.
Your job at glance
In medical technology, there are high demands on manufacturing precision and surface quality. Consequently, highly accurate monitoring and compensation methods are required. To this end, intelligent mechatronic machine components are to be developed to measure the forces and displacements during machining. On the other hand, new compensation methods are to be developed based on the measurement data in order to improve manufacturing accuracy.
The area of responsibility includes support with:
- Conducting experiments on a machine tool
- Development and design of sensor-based machine components
- Development of new compensation methods
- Measuring and analysing manufacturing tolerances
Who are we looking for?
A prerequisite for employment is valid enrolment at a German university in a degree programme relevant to the position (mechanical engineering, chemistry, materials science or similar subjects).
We are looking for a motivated student assistant to join our team with immediate effect.
Your profile:
- You have a good command of German
- Independent and structured work is a matter of course to you
- Interest in experimental work is required
The following skills are welcome:
- An interest in machining on a machine tool and artificial intelligence
- Knowledge of construction and simulation
- Knowledge of data analysis
