Switzerland 鈥 SEMP (Swiss-European Mobility Programme)
As a result of the vote on immigration in February 2014, the EU suspended negotiations on Switzerland鈥檚 participation in Erasmus+. In March 2014, a transitional solution was developed that once again enables Switzerland鈥檚 indirect participation in the Erasmus programme. The transitional solution, SEMP, is based on the principles and procedures of Erasmus+.
Financial support is no longer possible through Erasmus+ following Switzerland鈥檚 withdrawal. However, the Swiss government has established its own funding program, which supports stays abroad in a manner similar to the Erasmus+ program.
