An exchange semester is not just a brief change of scenery, but an opportunity to enhance both your studies and your personal development. Between the lecture hall and the wider world, you will discover new perspectives 鈥 academic, personal and cultural.
An exchange semester is the perfect opportunity to combine academic learning with international experience. As well as furthering your academic studies at a foreign university, you will have the chance to discover different academic perspectives and teaching and learning cultures, and to reflect on your own studies within a broader context. A new university, new methods, new people: you will experience how your subject is approached and taught differently, and take precisely these perspectives back home with you. All at once, you鈥檒l grow personally 鈥 through everyday life in a new city, spontaneous encounters and finding your feet in unfamiliar situations.
How has your semester abroad changed your view of the world? Which moments, particularly on campus with fellow students, have inspired you, surprised you or made you think? Which impressions from your everyday student life have stayed with you most? Which experiences have broadened your horizons?
If you have captured some fascinating moments on camera, we would love for you to take part in this year鈥檚 photo competition, themed 鈥楤etween the lecture hall and the horizon鈥. Ideally, the photos should offer a glimpse into everyday life at the host institution, student life or campus life.
