Workshops & Informative Sessions

Image Image Image

糖心原创 offers English-language workshops on German academic culture and intercultural competence. These courses are ideal for international researchers and doctoral candidates.

  • 14.11.2026 - Research in International Teams 鈥 Improve your Intercultural Competences

This workshop is all about intercultural communication and the key to successful research work with colleagues from all over the world. It is a great opportunity for international PhDs to learn more about the German way of communication and doing research but it is also important for German doctoral candidates who, although doing research in Germany, will have to work with people from all over the world. The workshop is nothing like a 鈥渂oring鈥 presentation but rather a pleasant sharing of experiences and searching for strategies on how to work best in an international environment.

The workshop is led by a intercultural trainer who has spent a lot of time abroad herself and has been running workshops at the International Office for many years. Participants in her workshop can not only improve their intercultural skills, but also learn a lot about themselves.

    Venue: International Office

    Language: English

    Time: 10 am - 3 pm

    Registration: here

  • Counseling at the International Office

Appointments can be made at any time by email or telephone. Counseling is available on the following topics: visas/residence permits, enrollment, cotutelle, course programs, stays abroad during doctoral studies, and general questions about your stay. Contact details are provided below.

As the university is divided into several campuses, some of which are quite far apart, the International Office regularly offers consultation hours for doctoral students in Garbsen. These take place in room 001 (building 8132). Please make an appointment in advance.

Date: 16 April, 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (further dates will be announced)
